Based on the former School of Political Education, School of Politics and Law, School of Ideological and Political Education and others, formed by integrating the teaching and research staff of Politics and Administration, the Department of Politics and Administration was established in 2000. There are 17 full-time teachers in the department. Among of them, there are 6 professors, 8 associate professors, and 3 lecturers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 2 doctoral supervisors, 14 master's supervisors, 15 teachers have doctoral degrees and most of them have academic exchange visits or collaborative research experience in famous universities abroad.
The Department of Politics and Administration is well-developed and has a full range of degree programs. It has a national first-class undergraduate program of Politics and Administration, a master's degree program of Politics, and secondary programs in Political theory, Scientific Socialism and International Communist Movement, Chinese and Foreign Political Systems, International Relations, Chinese Communist Party History and Social Management.
The faculty members are strong in scientific research, and have presided over more than 10 projects of the National Social Science Foundation, the National Natural Science Foundation and the Planning Project of the Ministry of Education, published more than 100 papers in academic journals,and their scientific research achievements have won more than 10 excellent achievements awards at provincial and ministerial levels.
The undergraduates of the department have solid professional basic skills, broad discipline vision, and strong practical ability of public management. After graduation, they are mainly engaged in management, policy research and secretarial work in party and government organs, enterprises and institutions, social organizations and communities.In recent years, more and more of them are pursuing further studies in famous universities at home and abroad. The master's and doctoral students have high professional quality and strong teaching and research abilities, and are well welcomed by party and government organs at all levels and higher education institutions.
